Job summary

Amergis Healthcare Staffing in Weymouth, MA is seeking a PACU Registered Nurse (RN) for a travel assignment. The PACU RN will care for patients recovering from anesthesia, monitor vital signs, and ensure safe emergence from anesthesia in a fast-paced healthcare facility.

Requirements include current RN licensure in Massachusetts, approximately one year in PACU preferred, CPR, ACLS and PALS certifications, and compliance with professional standards.

Qualifications

• Current RN licensure in the state in which RN is working.
• One year PACU experience preferred
• ACLS and PALS certification preferred per contract requirements
• CPAN or CAPA certification preferred
• CPR certification as applicable

Responsibilities

• Observe and treat patients postoperation and monitor recovery.
• Monitor vital signs and levels of consciousness as sedation wears off.
• Ensure safe awakening and identify any adverse reactions or complications

The post-Anesthesia Care Unit (PACU) RN cares for patientswho have under gone anesthesia. Thepost-Anesthesia Care Unit (PACU) RN is responsible for observing and treating apatient postoperation and making sure that they safely awake fromanesthesia. The post-Anesthesia CareUnit (PACU) RN must monitor vital signs and levels of consciousness to makesure that the sedation is wearing off properly, there are no adverse reactionsoccurring and patients are regaining consciousness.

Minimum Requirements:

• Current RN licensure in the state in which RN is working.
• One year PACU experience preferred
• CPAN (Certified Post Anesthesia Nurse) or CAPA (CertifiedAmbulatory Perianesthesia Nurse) certification preferred
• ACLS and PALS certification per contract requirements
• Complies with all relevant professional standards ofpractice
• Current CPR if applicable
• TB Questionnaire, PPD or chest x-ray if applicable
• Current Health certificate (per contract or stateregulation)
• Must meet all federal, state and local requirements
• Must be at least 18 years of age
