Job summary

The Post Anesthesia Care Unit (PACU) Registered Nurse (RN) provides specialized care across the peri-anesthesia continuum to include Pre anesthesia Phase, Post anesthesia Phase I, Post anesthesia Phase II, and extended care from sedation/analgesia and/or anesthesia for surgical, diagnostic, or therapeutic procedures.

Responsibilities include assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation of patient care, collaborating with anesthesia teams, and ensuring safety, comfort and optimal recovery

Qualifications

• Graduate of a school of professional nursing approved by the appropriate accrediting body.
• Current, full, active, unrestricted registered nurse licensure in the United States.
• English proficiency for direct patient care as required by VA.

Responsibilities

• Provide assessment, planning, implementing and evaluation of care across peri-anesthesia continuum.
• Care during Pre-anesthesia Phase, Post anesthesia Phase I & II, and extended sedation/analgesia management.
