Job summary

Beth Israel Lahey Health in Massachusetts is seeking a perioperative RN to join the PACU team. The schedule is 40 hpw, 9 a.m. to 7:30 p.m.

Monday through Saturday with call, including 24-hour on-call weekends and holidays, and travel within the hospital as needed. The role emphasizes patient assessment, education, safety, infection control, and coordination with surgical teams. Qualifications

Massachusetts RN license required.
1-2 years PACU experience required.
Experience working with patients on drips and ventilators.
Current BLS, ACLS and PALS certification required.
Ability to float to PAT and Pain Clinic with competencies completed.

Responsibilities

Assesses physical, mental, psychological and spiritual status of patient using age-appropriate knowledge.
Plans, evaluates and supervises care of all patients assigned.
Identifies patient care requirements by establishing personal rapport with preoperative and postoperative patients and family members.
Establishes a compassionate environment by providing emotional, psychological and spiritual support to patients, friends and families.
Educates patient and family to promote understanding of their condition, procedure, and medications using teachback.
Adheres to peri-operative standards and hospital policies to ensure quality of care.
