Job summary
VillageMD in New Jersey is seeking a Per Diem PACU Registered Nurse to provide professional nursing care to patients recovering from anesthesia and surgery. You will assess, plan, implement, and evaluate care to promote safe recovery, monitor patients, administer meds, and coordinate with the care team.
This role requires an Associate Degree in Nursing, an active RN license, BLS and ACLS, and experience in PACU or related areas.
Qualifications
- Associate Degree in Nursing required; Bachelor’s Degree preferred.
- Current RN license in the state of practice.
- BLS certification required; ACLS required.
- Previous PACU, critical care, emergency, perioperative, or related nursing experience preferred.
Responsibilities
- Assess, monitor, and evaluate patients during post‑anesthesia recovery.
- Administer medications, treatments, and interventions per policies.
- Recognize changes in condition and respond to emergencies.
- Collaborate with physicians, anesthesia providers, and the care team.
- Educate patients and caregivers regarding recovery and discharge instructions.
- Document assessments, interventions, and outcomes accurately.
- Maintain compliance with safety, infection prevention, and quality standards.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
