Job summary

Lower Bucks Hospital in Bristol, PA is seeking a Per Diem PACU RN to deliver high-quality post-anesthesia care in a busy surgical unit. You will assess, plan, implement and evaluate patient care in the PACU, coordinating with surgeons and anesthesiologists to ensure safe recovery.

The ideal candidate will hold an active RN license, BLS, ACLS certifications, and have prior critical care or PACU experience. BSN and CCRN are preferred.

Qualifications

• Current and valid state RN License.
• Current BLS (AHA) certification upon hire and maintain current.
• ACLS (AHA) certification 30 days upon hire and maintain current.
• Previous Critical Care or PACU experience or minimum of one year on the job training.
• Critical Care RN (CCRN) preferred.
• Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred.

Responsibilities

• The PACU RN is accountable to the OR Charge Nurse and the Director of Surgical Services. Delivers patient care in the PACU using the nursing process.
• Coordinates post-operative care with the surgeon and anesthesiologist; guides other personnel while maintaining standards of care in the PACU.
• Communicates with the physician about changes in patient condition, including hemodynamic status and diagnostic results.
• Collaborates with other departments to provide quality patient care across the continuum and assists with efficient patient flow.
• Participates in Performance Improvement activities, unit meetings and in-services.
