Job summary

Sierra Medical Center, part of Universal Health Services, seeks a part-time Registered Nurse for the PACU to deliver direct patient care from infant to geriatric in a surgical setting. You will monitor patients’ status, coordinate with surgeons and anesthesiologists, and participate in performance improvement activities.

Qualifications include a Nevada RN license, BLS, ACLS, and PACU experience. Competitive benefits and professional development are provided by UHS.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited or NLN-approved RN program.
• Current Nevada nursing license.
• Current BLS certificate.
• Current ACLS required.
• Handle with Care (or obtained within six months of employment) in required speciality.
• Must successfully pass any pre-employment assessment(s) required by the facility.

Responsibilities

• Demonstrates supportive behaviors necessary for bedside report using IMAP & SBAR.
• Perform head to toe pre-procedure assessment on all patients and reassesses post procedure as needed.
• Formulate an individualized plan of care and evaluate effectiveness.
• Assess and reassess pain; utilize pain management techniques.
• Educate patient and family regarding pain management.

Education
