This Registered Nurse PACU opportunity is part time, offers full benefits and a convenient schedule. This individual will function in the PACU environment and provides direct patient care to infant through geriatric patient populations. Addresses the psychosocial, physical and general aspects of care related to the surgical environment. Assists with the maintenance of PHA and PACU equipment and inventory. Participates in performance improvement activities. Assesses, plans, implements and evaluates the care of patients undergoing surgical, pain management, and endoscopic procedures. Responsible for monitoring patient's physiological status in the immediate postoperative environment. Communicates with surgeon and anesthesiologist immediately and as needed about patient condition; receives direction for patient management. Intercedes to maintain optimum homeostasis. Proficient in pain management, guidelines and medication dosing. Maintains regulatory agency requirements, nursing and hospital policies, procedures and standards.
