Job summary

Meadville Medical Center in Meadville, PA is seeking a Registered Nurse for the PACU on dayshift. The role coordinates Phase I post-anesthesia nursing care, teaching patients and families, and provides leadership in collaboration with the health care team.

Requirements include an active RN license, ACLS and PALS within 6 months, and PACU or critical care experience. Will administer medications, develop care plans, and document care according to policy.

Qualifications

• Current RN license in the state of Pennsylvania.
• ACLS and PALS required within 6 months of employment.
• Experience in PACU or post-anesthesia care preferred.
• Ability to teach patients and families.
• Ability to work collaboratively with the health care team.

Responsibilities

• Identify patient on arrival to PACU by name band and report from Anesthesia.
• Document observations, changes and reactions accurately and concisely.
• Develop and implement a nursing plan of care based on patient assessment.
• Administer medications including IVs according to policy.
• Provide PACU care and communicate with physicians, nurses, and families.
