Job summary

Medical University Hospital Authority (MUHA) seeks a dedicated PACU Registered Nurse for the Main Hospital unit. The RN delivers patient-centered care in a fast-paced 20-bed unit, coordinating with OR and ICU teams to stabilize patients post-anesthesia.

Responsibilities include monitoring vitals, administering meds, and ensuring safe handoffs. Requires SC nursing licensure, BLS, and one year of RN experience; ACLS/PALS needed before orientation completion.

Qualifications

• RN licensure required by state boards; BLS certification mandatory.
• ACLS and PALS certifications required prior to orientation completion.
• BSN preferred for new hires; if not, enrollment in BSN program within two years is required.

Responsibilities

• Provide individualized, goal-directed patient care in PACU using nursing process.
• Monitor and respond to patient status, administer medications, and collaborate with care team.
• Assist with recovery, transfer patients, and ensure safe discharge planning.
