SUNY Downstate Health Sciences University seeks a full-time Registered Nurse 1 for PACU in the Department of Perioperative Services. The role provides direct nursing care per Article 139, with supervision and training of Graduate Nurses and staff.

Qualified candidates hold NYS RN licensure; BSN preferred; 1 year of relevant clinical experience is desirable. The program notes participation in 55 B/C eligibility and accommodations under 55 B/C rules.

Formación

• Must hold an active New York State RN license and current registration.
• BSN preferred.
• 1 year of relevant clinical experience preferred.
• 55 B/C eligible candidates will be considered with eligibility letter.

Responsabilidades

• Prepares or assists with nursing care plans aligned with comprehensive treatment plans.
• Carries out treatment procedures, administers medications, and monitors patients.
• Records notes and maintains medical records and nursing care plans.
• Participates in developing, implementing, and revising individual care plans with a multidisciplinary team.
• Modifies nursing care plans based on patient condition and response.
• Triages patients, records findings, and refers to physician as needed.
• Provides education and counseling to patients and families.
• Maintains infection control compliance.
• May train paraprofessional staff in nursing techniques.
