Job summary

Mia Aesthetics in Chicago seeks an experienced Registered Nurse to join the PACU team. You will provide perioperative nursing care, monitor patients, and collaborate with surgeons and anesthesiologists to ensure safe recovery after procedures.

The role requires an active RN license and a nursing degree, with preferred PACU experience and bilingual English/Spanish abilities enhancing patient communication.

Qualifications

• Bilingual in English and Spanish preferred.
• Active RN license and education requirements.
• Minimum 1 year PACU experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Participates in primary care of patients as needed and makes rounds to verify patient needs are met.
• Provides nursing care related to surgical conditions.
• Monitors patients and informs surgeons or anesthesiologist of complications.
• Coordinates patient care with medical staff for continuity of care.
• Documents information from patients to appropriate team members.
• Documents Pre/Post-Operative orders and post-anesthesia care details.
• Assists nursing staff in identifying and solving care problems.
• Collaborates with medical staff for coordinated outcomes and interventions.
• Assists with nursing activities during emergencies.
• Educates patients and families on postoperative care.
• Organizes time, equipment, supplies, and personnel for patient care.
• Maintains order and cleanliness of postoperative areas.
• Assists with inventory of supplies, drugs, and equipment.
• Follows HIPAA policies at all times.
• Attends mandatory training and unit meetings.
