Job summary

Elliot Health System in New Hampshire is seeking a dedicated PACU RN to care for patients recovering from anesthesia after surgical procedures. You will monitor vital signs, manage pain relief, and administer IV fluids.

You will collaborate with physicians and nurses, educate families about recovery, assist with discharge planning, and document care in medical records. A current NH RN license or compact license is required; BLS is required with ACLS preferred.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited school of nursing. Bachelor of Science in Nursing preferred.
• New Hampshire Registered Nurse or Compact State Registered Nurse License.
• Ability to obtain BLS qualification during orientation period and maintain during employment. ACLS preferred.

Responsibilities

• Ensuring that patients receive optimal postoperative care through monitoring vital signs and conducting assessments.
• Providing comfort measures to ensure patient's comfort as they recover from anesthesia.
• Administering medications, pain relief, and IV fluids as prescribed by the physician.
• Educating patients on their recovery progress and answering any questions they may have.
• Assisting with discharge planning to ensure a smooth transition back home.
• Collaborating with other healthcare professionals to provide the best care possible for patients after surgery.
• Documenting patient's postoperative care in medical records accurately and completely.
