Job summary

Shasta Regional Medical Center is seeking a registered nurse for the PACU, reporting to the OR Charge Nurse and Director of Surgical Services. You will deliver care using nursing processes for PACU patients, coordinate post-operative care with surgeons and anesthesiologists, and guide other staff while upholding standards of care.

Requirements include an active RN license, BLS/ACLS/PALS certifications within specified times, PACU or critical care experience, and BSN preferred.

Qualifications

• Current and valid state RN License.
• BLS (AHA) certificate upon hire and maintain current.
• ACLS (AHA) certificate within 30 days upon hire and maintain current.
• PALS (AHA) certificate within 90 days upon hire and maintain current, preferred.
• Previous Critical Care or PACU experience or minimum of one year on the job training.
• Critical Care RN (CCRN) preferred.
• BSN preferred.

Responsibilities

• Deliver patient care through the nursing process for PACU patients.
• Coordinate post-operative care with surgeon and anesthesiologist.
• Direct and guide other personnel while maintaining standards of care in PACU.
• Communicate changes in patient condition to the physician, including hemodynamic data and test results.
• Participate in Performance Improvement activities and unit meetings.
