Job summary

Shasta Regional Medical Center is seeking an experienced Registered Nurse to provide direct patient care in the ICU, applying the nursing process and coordinating with physicians on critical patient changes. You will educate patients and families, support other staff, and ensure privacy and safety standards are upheld.

Qualifications

• Current and valid state RN License.
• Current BLS certificate upon hire and maintain current.
• Completion of Critical Care Course preferred.
• Basic Arrhythmia Interpretation within 30 days of hire.
• Current ACLS certificate 30 days upon hire and maintain current.
• Minimum of one year as a staff RN in acute care hospital, critical care preferred.
• Critical Care RN (CCRN) Certification preferred.
• Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred.

Responsibilities

• Deliver safe patient care using the nursing process (assessment, planning, implementation, evaluation).
• Provide direct patient care within the scope of practice in the ICU.
• Direct and guide patient/family teaching and activities of other nursing personnel.
• Maintain patient privacy and confidentiality.
• Communicate with physicians about changes in patient condition and test results.
