Job summary

Shasta Regional Medical Center, part of Prime Healthcare, is seeking an experienced PACU RN to join our award-winning team in Northern California. The role focuses on delivering high-quality post-operative care in a 226-bed facility with strong patient-safety credentials.

You will coordinate care with surgeons and anesthesiologists, communicate patient status, and participate in quality improvement activities within a dynamic surgical services unit.

Qualifications

• Current and valid state RN License.
• BLS (AHA) certificate upon hire and maintain.
• ACLS (AHA) certificate within 30 days of hire and maintain.
• PALS (AHA) certificate within 90 days of hire and maintain (preferred for facilities performing peds OR).
• Previous Critical Care or PACU experience or minimum of one year on the job training.
• Critical Care RN (CCRN) preferred.
• Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred.

Responsibilities

• Deliver patient care through the nursing process in the PACU.
• Coordinate post-operative care with surgeons and anesthesiologists.
• Direct and guide other personnel while maintaining PACU standards of care.
• Communicate with physicians about changes in patient condition and test results.
• Participate in Performance Improvement activities and unit meetings.
