Job summary

Lubbock Heart & Surgical Hospital is seeking a dedicated Registered Nurse to join the Lubbock Heart team. The role focuses on adolescent, adult, and geriatric acute care, with emphasis on safe medication administration and patient education.

You will work closely with a multidisciplinary team to ensure high-quality outcomes in a fast-paced environment. This is a full-time position with opportunities for growth within the hospital’s Nursing Department.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an approved school of nursing.
• Currently licensed in Texas.
• BSN preferred.
• BCLS and ACLS required.
• 2-5 years’ experience in cardiac care setting.
• Minimum of 1 year experience in PACU.

Responsibilities

• Assesses patient needs across adolescent, adult and geriatric acute care.
• Gathers data and plans nursing care with measurable goals.
• Prepares discharge plans and follow-up coordination.
• Develops monthly staffing plans with supervisor.
• Administers medications safely in acute care units.
• Educates patients and families on care and treatment.

Education

Graduate of an approved school of nursing.

Licensed in the state of Texas

BSN preferred

BCLS and ACLS required

2-5 years’ experience in cardiac care

Minimum 1 year PACU experience
