Job summary

Toms River Surgery Center is seeking a PreOp/PACU Registered Nurse (RN) to provide comprehensive care for patients emerging from anesthesia, ensuring safety and comfort. The role supports physicians in procedure rooms and requires strong clinical judgment and communication.

The ideal candidate holds an accredited RN education, an active NJ license, and BLS/ACLS (PALS if required). PACU/CC experience is preferred; on-site staffing with a focus on quality patient care.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited RN School of Nursing.
• Active RN license in the state of New Jersey.
• BLS and ACLS required; PALS if required by the center.
• 2 years experience in PACU or Critical Care preferred.
• Ability to make decisions based on nursing judgement.
• Strong communication skills, verbal and written.

Responsibilities

• Provide continuity and quality nursing care for all patients in PACU.
• Continually evaluate patient condition, ensuring safety, comfort and privacy.
• Assist physicians in procedure rooms with tasks, conscious sedation, and sterile techniques as appropriate.
• Plan, implement and evaluate patient care from anesthesia emergence to discharge readiness.
