Job summary

Toms River Surgery Center is seeking a PreOp/PACU Registered Nurse (RN) to provide continuous, high-quality care for post-anesthesia patients. You will monitor patient status, ensure safety, and support the surgical team throughout recovery.

Qualified candidates hold an accredited RN degree, NJ RN license, and BLS/ACLS; PALS as required. Prior PACU or critical care experience is preferred, and strong communication is essential for coordinating care.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited RN School of Nursing.
• Active RN license in the state of New Jersey.
• BLS and ACLS Required, PALS if required by the center.
• 2 years experience in PACU or Critical Care preferred.
• Ability to make decisions based on nursing judgment.
• Able to prioritize and organize workload to meet the needs of patients and the unit.
• Strong communication skills, verbal and written.

Responsibilities

• Provides continuity and quality nursing care for all patients, with continual evaluation of the patient's condition, providing patient safety, comfort, and privacy at all times.
• May assist physicians in procedure rooms with tasks, conscious sedation, and sterile techniques as deemed appropriate.
• Provide total comprehensive patient care to patients emerging from general anesthesia and/or sedation; assess, plan, implement, and evaluate the patient and family in preparation for discharge.
