Job summary

UPMC Mercy’s PACU General OR is hiring a full-time Patient Care Technician to support surgical patients across pre- and post-operative care. The role offers a Monday–Friday daylight schedule with no weekends or holidays, and shifts 7:00 a.m.–3:30 p.m.

or 9:00 a.m.–5:30 p.m., in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment. Responsibilities include vital signs, point-of-care testing, patient prep and mobility, stocking, and adherence to safety/compliance standards.

Qualifications

• Experience in patient care and clinical assistance in a fast-paced setting.
• Ability to perform and document vital signs, glucose testing, and I&O.
• Willingness to learn and perform advanced skills as department needs.

Responsibilities

• Assist with ADLs, vital signs, testing, mobility, and patient preparation.
• Support point-of-care testing, weights, telemetry, and safety checks.
• Document in the medical record and help with patient transport.
