Job summary

Essentia Health in Duluth, MN seeks a Nursing Assistant to provide direct patient care in PACU and Outpatient Surgery, under RN supervision. You will assist with comfort care, personal hygiene, vital signs, and safe transfers to support patient safety and healing on a busy perioperative unit.

Shifts rotate; 5:00am to 12:00pm starts; weekends and holidays included. Eligible for up to a $1,500 hiring incentive.

Qualifications

• Rotating 8 hour shifts.
• Shift start times will vary from 5:00am - 12:00pm as scheduling for Outpatient and PACU needs can vary.
• Weekends and holidays will be included in the scheduling rotation.
• BLS certified or ability to become certified within 1 month from hire date
• Six months of nursing assistant experience or completion of one semester of clinical rotations within an accredited nursing program or verifiable completion of a recognized nurse aide training program or current registration on applicable state nursing assistant registry

Responsibilities

• Provide direct care to patients under the supervision of a RN, Nurse Manager, Assistant Head Nurse, or Department Director.
• Assist with personal hygiene, nourishment, comfort care and other assistance.
• Taking vital signs and completing recordkeeping.
• Transfer patients safely and maintain a safe, clean environment for healing.
• Recognize and promptly report changes in patient condition to the RN.
