Job summary

OrthoIndy is seeking a Nursing Technician for the PACU at OrthoIndy Hospital, Greenwood, IN. This full-time role supports RN-directed patient care in the PACU, with a Monday–Friday shift from 6:00 am to 2:30 pm and a benefits package.

The role requires a CNA license (or nursing student with clinical rotations) and BLS certification, plus 1–2 years of patient care experience in a hospital setting. OrthoIndy is an Equal Opportunity Employer.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required; specialty training beyond high school preferred.
• Valid CNA license and 1-2 years of patient care experience required; OR nursing student with one semester of clinical rotations.
• BLS certification required

Responsibilities

• Obtains and reports vital signs and fluid intake/output; discontinues IV lines and urinary catheters as directed by RN and documents removal.
• Assists in cleaning equipment, furniture, and surfaces using aseptic technique; returns equipment to proper areas.
• Restocks linens and supplies on the unit; orders linen and café items for patient care.
• Performs phlebotomy as directed by the RN.
• Performs Urine Pregnancy Tests and blood glucose tests for patients as directed.
• Provides skin care as directed by the RN.
• Reinforces patient and family education as directed by the RN.
• Performs EKGs and bladder scans when directed by the RN.
• Transports patients to other units upon dismissal or as needed.
• Performs cast cutting, Ted Hose measurement and application.
