Job summary

OrthoIndy Hospital in Indianapolis, IN is seeking a Nursing Technician Inpatient to support the RN in the OIH Inpatient Services unit. You will perform routine patient care, monitor vital signs, assist with activities of daily living, and participate in a three 12-hour day shift schedule with weekend rotations.

Applicants must have a CNA license or be a nursing student with clinical rotations, with BLS certification.

Qualifications

• Valid Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) license and patient care experience required.
• Nursing student with one semester of completed clinical rotations required.
• Minimum 1-2 years direct patient care experience in a hospital setting with ability to earn CNA education and certification within six months.

Responsibilities

• Assists with activities of daily living and documents care.
• Observes, documents, and reports patient conditions to the RN.
• Obtains and reports vital signs and input/output.
• Reinforces patient and family education as directed by the RN.
• Performs phlebotomy, EKGs, and bladder scans as directed by the RN.
• Discontinues IVs/catheters as directed and documents removal.
• Restocks linens and supplies; maintains aseptic technique.
