Job summary

HCA Healthcare actively seeks a PACU Nurse for our Jacksonville Surgery Center in Florida. You will provide postoperative nursing care until discharge, uphold family-centered care, and support the center’s mission and patient outcomes.

Responsibilities include airway management, vigilant monitoring, IV management, and comprehensive head-to-toe assessments. Eligible candidates hold an RN or higher, are licensed in the state, and meet BCLS/ACLS timelines.

Qualifications

• RN licensure active as required by state of employment
• BCLS certification at start of employment (online not acceptable)
• ACLS required within 30 days of hire
• PALS if required by facility within 30 days of hire
• 1+ year nursing experience in PACU, ICU or Surgery preferred

Responsibilities

• Prepare patient care area with equipment and supplies
• Demonstrate proper airway management techniques
• Monitor patients per policy (vital signs, temperature, cardiac)
• Insert, maintain, and remove IV catheters and saline locks
• Perform and document head-to-toe assessments using approved scoring system
• Check dressings or operative sites and report abnormalities to the surgeon
• Provide a safe and comforting environment for patients and family
• Ensure patients meet discharge criteria
