Job summary

HCA Healthcare's ambulatory surgery center is seeking a PACU Nurse to provide safe, compassionate postoperative care and support the center's mission to deliver outstanding patient experiences. You will perform head-to-toe assessments, ensure airway management, monitor vital signs, and manage IV access while documenting care and meeting discharge criteria.

You will collaborate with surgeons and the care team to optimize patient outcomes and safety.

Qualifications

• Associate Degree in Nursing or RN Diploma or Higher required.
• 1+ years of nursing experience in a clinical setting, preferably PACU/ICU or Surgery.
• Active RN license as required by state of employment.
• BCLS Certification upon employment. Online certification not acceptable.
• ACLS required within 30-days of hire.
• PALS if required by facility within 30-days of hire.

Responsibilities

• Prepare patients’ care area and ensure equipment and supplies.
• Demonstrate proper airway management techniques.
• Monitor patient vitals according to policy.
• Insert, maintain, and remove IV catheters and saline locks.
• Perform and document head-to-toe evaluations using an approved scoring system.
• Check dressings and report abnormalities to the surgeon.
• Provide a safe and comforting environment for patients and families.
• Ensure patients meet discharge criteria.
