Job summary

LCMC Health in Louisiana is seeking a Recovery Room Nurse for the Post Anesthesia Care Unit (PACU). You will monitor patients emerging from anesthesia, manage pain and vital signs, and coordinate with the surgical team to ensure safe recovery and timely transfer to the unit or discharge home.

This role requires a current Louisiana RN license, BLS, ACLS and PALS certifications, and strong patient care and teamwork.

Qualifications

• Current Louisiana RN license.
• BLS, ACLS and PALS certifications required.
• BSN preferred; 1 year in related clinical area desirable.
• Certified Critical Care Nurse (CCN) or CPAN a plus.

Responsibilities

• Monitor patients recovering from anesthesia, including pain, vitals, lines, tubes, and airway status.
• Educate patients and families on home care and recovery expectations.
• Complete clinical documentation and postoperative assessments.
• Monitor for postoperative complications and intervene as needed.
• Collaborate with the surgical team to meet patient care needs and ensure safe transfer or discharge.
