Job summary

Canyon Vista Medical Center in Arizona seeks a registered nurse for its PACU team. The role supports the perioperative continuum with a focus on safe, patient-centered recovery in a fast-paced environment.

You will work four 10-hour shifts with some on-call coverage. The successful candidate will hold an active RN license in Arizona or compact state, have an Associate's Degree in Nursing, and be prepared to complete ACLS/PALS within one year.

Qualifications

• Active Arizona or Compact RN license.
• Associate's degree in nursing required; Bachelor's or Master's degree preferred.

Responsibilities

• Performs duties as assigned and requested.
• Completes focused patient assessments and reassessments based on patient's condition, procedures, medications, and treatments.
• Adequately assesses and reassesses pain; utilizes appropriate pain management techniques.
• Provides patient care and communicates effectively with patients of all ages and with specific needs.
• Demonstrates knowledge of medications and ensures correct administration following the six rights to minimize medication errors.
• Assists physicians with procedures and provides services requiring technical and manual skills.
• Performs treatments and delivers care within licensure scope.
• Ensures patient safety by performing all aspects of care in an environment that reduces the likelihood of errors.
• Operates and manages equipment safely and correctly.
• Educates patients and families on disease processes and recovery expectations.
• Participates in performance improvement and continuing education.
• Provides quality patient care and works flexible shifts/units as needed.
• Maintains regular and reliable attendance.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
• Patient Populations Served: Neonate, Infant, Early Childhood, Late Childhood, Adolescent, Young Adult, Middle Adult, Older Adult.
