Job summary

Doctors Hospital of Augusta is seeking a PACU Registered Nurse to lead post-operative care, monitor neurological and cardiac status, manage airway support, and respond to complications. You will collaborate with the surgical and anesthesia team and participate in on-call scheduling for select non-business hours.

The role emphasizes evidence-based practices, patient safety, and seamless coordination with a multidisciplinary team to ensure stable recovery and smooth transitions to subsequent care.

Qualifications

• ACLS must be obtained within 1 year of employment start date
• BLS must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date
• PALS Pediatric Advanced Life Support must be obtained within 1 year of employment start date
• RN licensure required

Responsibilities

• Deliver high-quality, patient-centered care while applying evidence-based practices and continuous improvement
• Be an integral member of a dynamic interdisciplinary team – provider(s), therapy, and more
• Consistently apply nursing process, critical thinking, scientific judgment, and leadership to independently deliver safe nursing care
• Assess patient condition, monitor throughout shift, and document changes and care provided
• Educate patients and families/caregivers about medical condition, treatment and follow-up measures
