Job summary

The PACU Nurse at University Center for Ambulatory Surgery, LLC will provide immediate postoperative care in the Somerset/Franklin Township area. You’ll monitor vitals, manage pain, and collaborate with anesthesiologists and surgeons to ensure safe recovery and timely transfers.

Ideal candidates hold NJ RN license, BLS/ACLS, and perioperative experience; CPAN/CAPA preferred. This full-time role offers a supportive team, infection-control adherence, and opportunities to advance clinical skills.

Qualifications

Current and valid RN license in New Jersey.
Completion of an accredited nursing program (ADN/BSN).
BLS and ACLS certifications.
Experience or exposure in perioperative or critical care nursing.

Responsibilities

Monitor patients’ vital signs, airway status, and level of consciousness in the immediate postoperative period.
Administer medications and pain management interventions as prescribed.
Assess and manage postoperative complications such as respiratory distress, bleeding, nausea, and pain.
Document patient status and progress in medical records.
Communicate with surgical teams, anesthesiologists, and families regarding care plans.
Prepare patients for transfer to inpatient units or discharge after ensuring stability.
Maintain a safe, clean PACU environment adhering to infection control protocols.
