Job summary

Hartford HealthCare is seeking Post-Anesthesia Care Unit nurses at The Hospital of Central Connecticut in New Britain, CT. The PACU team provides pre- and postoperative care across a variety of surgical services with 24/7 coverage and on-call hours.

The role requires a Connecticut RN license, graduation from an accredited nursing program, BLS (and ACLS for external candidates), and ICU experience is preferred.

Qualifications

• Current Connecticut RN license
• Graduate of an accredited nursing program
• ICU experience preferred; will consider ED, step-down and floor-level experience
• BSN preferred
• BLS certification by AHA required prior to hire; ACLS required for external candidates

Responsibilities

• Provide pre- and post-anesthesia care in PACU
• Initiate IVs, administer medications, educate patients
• Document care in medical records
• Manage recovery from anesthesia and postoperative care
• Support a 24/7 PACU with on-call responsibilities
• Care for diverse surgical services with a 2:1 patient nurse ratio
