Job summary

Hartford Hospital, a premier teaching hospital in Connecticut, seeks experienced PACU nurses to recover patients from anesthesia and manage postoperative care across a busy 28-bed unit. You will serve various surgical services, including GI procedures, with a 2:1 nurse/patient ratio and 24/7 coverage.

Qualifications

• Current Connecticut RN License.
• Graduate of an accredited nursing school.
• ICU experience preferred
• BSN preferred
• BLS certification by the American Heart Association required prior to date of hire.
• ACLS required for external candidates

Responsibilities

• Recover patients from anesthesia and manage postoperative care in a 28-bed PACU.
• Provide care for patients after general, regional anesthesia and IV sedation.
• Support 24/7 PACU operations with a 2:1 nurse/patient ratio.
• Care for postoperative GI advanced procedures and colonoscopy/endoscopy patients.
