Job summary

Hartford HealthCare seeks a PACU nurse for The Hospital of Central Connecticut in New Britain, CT. The role covers pre- and post-operative care in a 10-bed PACU serving multiple surgical services with 24/7 coverage and on-call requirements.

Ideal candidates have ICU experience, CT RN license, and BLS/ACLS; ACLS for external candidates. ACLS & BLS are required before hire for appropriate applicants.

Qualifications

• Current Connecticut RN license.
• Graduate of an accredited nursing school.
• ACLS required for external candidates.
• BLS certification required prior to date of hire.
• ICU experience preferred; ED/step-down/floor-level considered case by case.

Responsibilities

• Provide pre- and post-operative care in PACU.
• Initiate IVs, administer medications, educate patients, document appropriately.
• Manage postoperative recovery and adherence to ASPAN guidelines.
• Support 24/7 PACU coverage with on-call requirements.
