Northwest Texas Healthcare System, a part of Universal Health Services, is seeking a Charge Nurse to lead daily nursing care and coordinate multidisciplinary teams. The role emphasizes patient-centered care, safety, and service excellence in a fast-paced hospital setting.

The Charge Nurse directs and supports staff, ensures appropriate staffing, and upholds standards to achieve optimal patient outcomes and high-quality care for the community in Amarillo, Texas.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited or NLN-approved RN program required.
• BLS certification maintained throughout employment.
• Current Texas nursing license or permit to practice.
• De-escalation training within 90 days of hire.
• ACLS completion within three months after hire or promotion.
• Demonstration of clinically pertinent competencies per facility.

Responsibilities

• Assumes shift responsibility for planning and provision of nursing care.
• Coordinate multi-disciplinary team and direct nursing staff to safe outcomes.
• Develop, implement and evaluate age-appropriate care plans.
• Maintain a safe environment for patients, families and staff.
• Lead with patient-centered care and service excellence.

Education

Graduate of an accredited or NLN-approved RN program

BLS certification (American Heart Association)

Current state nursing license (Texas)

De-escalation training within 90 days

ACLS completion within 3 months

ACCS requirements (as specified)
