Job summary

Advocate Health's PACU unit seeks a part-time patient care assistant to support RN-led care, including bathing, feeding, and monitoring patients in the Recovery area. You will document vitals and chart in the EMR, assist with admissions and transfers, and help with nutrition and skin care under RN supervision.

This role requires BLS within 45 days and CNA registration in the state. The position offers 24 hours per week with options for 8- or 12-hour shifts and shared weekend on-call

Qualifications

• BLS for Healthcare Providers certification within 45 days
• Nurse Aide in good standing in the State Registry
• GED or High School Diploma or equivalent

Responsibilities

• Assist RN with daily patient care including bathing, hygiene, feeding, ambulation, and transfer using proper techniques.
• Document vital signs, intake/output, weights, and other data in EMR as required.
• Support admissions, transfers and discharges with room setup and patient belongings management.
• Perform rounding and communicate observations to the RN; ensure patient comfort and safety.
• Assist with nutrition-related tasks and maintaining skin integrity; manage supplies and equipment.
• Coordinate tests and treatments across departments and maintain knowledge of scheduling and POC procedures.
• Maintain professional communication and customer relations with patients and families.
