Job summary

WVUH West Virginia University Hospitals in Morgantown, WV, is seeking a Part-time PACU Patient Care Assistant to support the nursing team in preop/postop care. You will perform delegated tasks, transport supplies, and assist with patient comfort under RN supervision.

The role requires a High School diploma, completion of departmental PCA orientation, and BLS certification within 30 days. Prior patient care experience is preferred. Shift options vary with 20 hours per week.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent required.
• Successful completion of departmental clinical support or PCA orientation.
• Obtain BLS certification within 30 days of hire.

Responsibilities

• Performs preoperative, intraoperative, and postoperative support activities.
• Assists with transporting supplies, instruments, and equipment.
• Maintains clean, safe work areas and adheres to sterile processing guidelines.
• Transports patients and manages records and logs.
• Documents vital signs and patient information as directed by nursing staff.
• Assists with room setup and basic clerical duties as needed.
