Job summary

The U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs is seeking a Social Worker to provide outpatient social work services in the VA Ann Arbor Healthcare System, primarily within PACT and specialty clinics. Responsibilities include treatment planning, crisis intervention, advocacy, and care coordination with medical teams.

GS-9/GS-11 level requires appropriate MSW education and state licensure. Applicants may apply pending licensure; English proficiency is required.

Qualifications

• Master's degree in social work from CSWE-accredited program.
• Licensed or certified to practice social work at the master's level; state licensure may be required; may be waived for GS-9 per VA policy.
• U.S. citizenship required; non-citizens permitted only as allowed by VA policy.
• English language proficiency: must be proficient in spoken and written English.

Responsibilities

• Provide social work services within PACT/ GM & Specialty clinics.
• Deliver outpatient social work services to Veterans receiving medical care in PACT.
• Apply a complete range of social work methods: individual and group work, treatment planning, case management, crisis intervention, advocacy, and care coordination.
• Develop treatment plans and coordinate with mental health and medical teams.
• Advocate for Veterans and coordinate referrals to community resources.
