Job summary

Nash UNC Health Care in Nash County is seeking a Program Assistant in Radiology Administration. This entry-level role provides clerical, technical, and workflow support to the PACS Administrator and Imaging Services, helping ensure imaging studies are available, organized, and routed within PACS.

You will respond to routine imaging requests, assist with basic troubleshooting, maintain documentation, and support departmental communication while upholding confidentiality and professionalism.

Qualifications

• Requires strong attention to detail and basic computer skills.
• Ability to follow established procedures and communicate professionally with staff and outside facilities.
• Willingness to learn PACS, imaging terminology, Radiology workflows, and department procedures.

Responsibilities

• Assist the PACS Administrator with routine image management tasks (locating, verifying, importing, exporting, routing, monitoring).
• Support daily PACS workflow by ensuring imaging exams are available for review and delivered to the correct destination promptly.
• Respond to routine image-related requests from radiologists, technologists, providers, departments and outside facilities with professionalism.
• Assist with basic troubleshooting of image availability and routing issues; escalate complex problems as needed.
• Maintain accurate documentation of image requests, transfers, corrections and downtime activities.
• Help with quality checks to identify duplicates, mismatched patient information, missing images, or other workflow issues.
• Provide administrative support for Radiology Administration (data entry, filing, scanning, reporting, communications).
• Maintain patient confidentiality and follow privacy policies when handling imaging information and records.
• Communicate status, next steps, and follow-up needs with team and customers clearly.
• Participate in training and demonstrate willingness to learn PACS functions and department procedures.
