Job summary

Kids for the Future is seeking a Packing Lead in Chicago to oversee packing flow and support affiliate relations. You will ensure accurate packaging, communicate with internal teams, and coordinate with shipping to meet client requirements and KPI targets.

The role emphasizes hands-on packing, training responsibilities, and maintaining orderly processes to prevent errors across orders and shipments.

Qualifications

• Bilingual written and verbal communication in English and Spanish (preferred).
• 1+ years of industry experience.
• 1+ years in a team lead role.

Responsibilities

• Assurance of all box labels, packing slips, physical counts and system records match what the client is receiving.
• Communicate with internal departments on status updates, or discrepancies.
• Assist in packing product efficiently when all hands on deck are needed to support the team.
• Notify the shipping department of time frames and completion of packing orders in the area.
• Work with management for department or client-specific needs & inventory.
• Understand and conform to client specifications of packaged goods.
• Maintain an organized department between orders to be packed and completed orders.
• Support a safe work environment by training employees on lifting procedures, pallet jacket safety, skid organization, bending and pulling techniques, etc.
• Support the company as the last line of defense of finished goods packages to catch errors in house.
• Processing of distribution locations and instructions according to specific needs or direction.

POSITION SUMMARY

The packing lead will have a big focus in the flow of the packing department and a key player in affiliate relations. This individual will be able to give both clients and affiliate vendors the best CS experience. It is important that the packing lead understands how to communicate effectively internally and externally. This person will be able to work closely with the shipping department on any incoming or outgoing shipments. While fulfilling the below responsibilities the packing lead is responsible for ensuring all orders are packaged per the client or affiliate requirements and achieving the department KPI’s to complete order within the scheduled time frame.

QUALIFICATIONS/SKILLS

• Bilingual: Strong written and verbal communication in English and Spanish preferred but not required
• 1+ Years of industry experience
• 1+ Years of team lead role

• Able to thrive in a fast paced environment

• Hands on experience as a trainer or coach
• Proven experience in packing, inventory, or shipping
