Job summary

General Mills in Buffalo, NY is hiring a Cereal Packing Mechanic to install, maintain and repair packaging machinery on 3rd shift. 8-hour night shift, 10:30pm–6:30am, with overtime, weekends and holidays as needed.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED.
• 5 years of industrial maintenance experience or equivalent.
• Able to read machine prints and troubleshoot mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems.
• Welding and fabrication skills are a plus.
• Electrical/controls experience is a plus.
• Able to communicate in English.

Responsibilities

• Install, maintain, repair, and replace industrial packaging machinery and tools.
• Identify and troubleshoot mechanical issues.
• Lead repairs and modifications to machinery and equipment.
• Perform uptime and downtime preventative maintenance.
• Participate in Continuous Improvement initiatives.
• Train new employees; support plant areas as needed.
