Job summary

New Weds Foods in Broadview, IL is seeking a Packer Nights to support the production line by setting up and operating auxiliary equipment. This role assists the machine operator to maintain product quality and meet throughput goals.

The position offers a comprehensive benefits package and a shift from Monday to Thursday, 4pm–4am, with compensation of $18.50/hour plus a $0.85 shift differential. Candidates should have a high school diploma and be able to lift up to 50 lbs.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Knowledge about manufacturing food preferred.
• Able to communicate well, both verbally and in writing and have good mathematical skills.
• Able to repetitively lift up to 50 lbs.

Responsibilities

• Inspect product for embossed lot number and verify all packaging is correct.
• Package product and palletize cases in proper skid pattern.
• Produce labels and install ribbons on label printers as required.
• Communicate non-conforming situations to operators and supervisors.
• Maintain a clean and safe work area and wear required safety gear.

Essential Functions:

• Inspect product for embossed lot number and verify all packaging is correct.
• Continue inspection of all packaging throughout the shift, and complete Packaging Inspection Checklist as required.
• Pack product into appropriate shipper and palletize all completed cases in appropriate skid pattern and numerical sequence.
• Produce labels as required for all shippers on assigned production lines. Install ribbons and labels on the label printers as required. Ensure proper issuance of labels to the production lines.
• Communicate any non-conforming situation to the Process Operator, Senior Process Operator, Production Lead-hand, Production Supervisor/Manager and Mechanical staff as required.
• Maintain work area in a clean/safe manner. Report any non-conformance.
• Wear appropriate safety equipment as required.
• Any other packaging duty which may be assigned by the Production Lead-hand/Supervisor/ Manager or designate, as required.

Work Environment:

The job is performed in the production area where the person will be exposed to strong aromas, airborne dust particles emanating from ingredients being used, and will be in the presence of or otherwise operating machinery.
