Job summary

Daikin Applied Americas Inc. in Dayton, OH is hiring for a warehouse associate. You will lift, move and arrange materials, operate pallet jacks and forklifts, and follow safety and work instructions in a climate-controlled facility.

Your duties include reading diagrams, performing basic math, and using WMS handheld scanners to complete daily tasks, with potential for growth and tuition reimbursement as part of a benefits package.

Qualifications

• Reads, writes and communicates effectively in English.
• Ability to follow safety policies and work instructions.
• High school diploma or GED or 2 years manufacturing experience.
• Basic math and measurement skills.
• Proficiency with reading diagrams and using basic scanners or WMS.

Responsibilities

• Prepare, cut, secure and assemble crates to prevent product damage.
• Safely transport materials with manual or powered equipment (PIV, pallet jack, forklift).
• Read diagrams and use measuring tools and basic computer/WMS functions.
• Identify quality issues and escalate accordingly.
• Maintain 5S standards and clean, organized work areas.

Your Responsibilities:

• Follows all safety and operational policies, procedures, and work instructions.
• Prepares, cuts, secures and assembles crates to prevent product damage.
• Safely transport materials throughout the facility using manual and Powered Industrial Vehicles (PIV), including pallet jack, forklift.
• Attention to detail with emphasis on reading diagrams, solid math skills, measuring devices and following step-by-step instructions.
• Uses basic computer programs, Warehouse Management System (WMS) functions, and handheld scanners to complete daily tasks.
• Identifies quality issues and escalates accordingly.
• Able to achieve safety, quality and productivity standards.
• Ability to physically complete tasks including lifting, moving, and carrying up to 35 lbs. consistently throughout shift.
• Maintains clean, organized work areas in accordance with 5S standards.
• Other duties as assigned.

Your Qualifications:

• The ability to lift, push, and/or pull materials, stand for majority of the shift, and work in a fast-paced manufacturing environment while maintaining proper PPE.
• The ability to use hand tools for extended periods of time.
• The ability to read, write, and communicate effectively in English.
• High School Education/GED OR Minimum 2 years of related experience in a manufacturing/production environment.
