Job summary

dsm-firmenich in Princeton, NJ is seeking a Packer on the 2nd shift to precisely weigh, fill, and label liquid chemicals while maintaining inventory and quality control using SAP and MES systems.

You will follow strict safety protocols, operate equipment, and work with a team to keep a clean, organized workspace, meeting GMP/HACCP requirements and labeling standards.

Qualifications

  • High School diploma or equivalent or prior experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • 1-year chemical manufacturing experience preferred.
  • Knowledge of GMP and HACCP principles.
  • Must be able to tolerate strong odors and allergens.
  • Ability to stand for an 8-hour shift and lift up to 50 lbs.

Responsibilities

  • Accurately weigh and fill liquid chemical materials into containers according to instructions and recipes.
  • Follow packing procedures including scanning to validate materials and precise weighing.
  • Utilize Weight Assisted Computer, MES, and SAP systems in daily tasks.
  • Use SAP to inventory containers and verify quantities and scrap loss.
  • Strictly adhere to labeling protocol and apply labels correctly.
  • Close containers with proper crimping and tamper-evident seals.

Packer – 2nd Shift
Princeton, NJ
As a Packer, you’ll ensure precise weighing, filling, and labeling of liquid chemicals while maintaining inventory and quality control through Manufacturing Execution System and SAP systems. You’ll uphold strict safety protocols, use equipment properly, and collaborate with your team to maintain a clean, organized workspace—all while adhering to quality standards and Personal Protection Equipment requirements.

Your Key Responsibilities
  • Accurately weigh and fill liquid chemical materials into containers according to instructions and recipes.
  • Follow packing procedures include scanning to validate materials, precision weighing using weight assisted computer, testing scales, using correct scales, etc.
  • Utilization of computer systems Weight Assisted Computer; Manufacturing Execution System; and SAP
  • Use SAP to inventory containers, inputting total actual amount packed, confirm actual pack-out and scrap loss, confirm delivery quantity matches confirmed quantity
  • Strict adherence to labeling protocol, including printing/reprinting Labels, selecting label sizes according to container types, proper placement of labels on containers, proper disposal of extra or ruined labels
  • Close containers including, properly crimping containers, and apply tamper evidence seals

You bring
  • High School diploma or equivalent or prior experience in a manufacturing environment
  • 1-year chemical manufacturing experience preferred
  • Knowledge of GMP (Good Manufacturing Practices) and HACCP (Hazard Analysis Critical Control Points)
  • Must be able to tolerate strong odors and allergens
  • Ability to be on your feet for 8-hour shift
  • Frequently lift a 35 lb. product hose
  • Frequently move, lift, pull & push up to 50 lbs.

The salary or hourly wage scale provided reflects the pay range dsm-firmenich expects to pay the successful candidate for the position. Individual pay offered will be based on the applicant’s job-related skills, experience, relevant education, or training, and primary work location. Salary $25.00.

In addition to base salary, we also offer a comprehensive total rewards package, inclusive of annual incentive pay, a retirement savings plan, health care coverage, paid time off, recognition programs and a broad range of other benefits.
