Job summary

Silgan Plastics Corporation is seeking a production associate to follow safety and quality guidelines while packing and palletizing products from conveyor systems. The role requires good attention to detail, ability to read and communicate effectively, and the stamina to work 12-hour day or night shifts, including weekends and overtime.

Candidates should have a GED; a high school diploma is preferred, and the ability to lift up to 50 lbs is required.

Qualifications

• Must have GED; HS diploma preferred.
• Ability to read, write and communicate orally.
• Fluent English preferred for effective communication.
• Must be dependable with good attendance; able to lift 50 lbs.

Responsibilities

• Follow all Safety and Quality Guidelines.
• Adhere to Silgan safety policies and procedures to prevent injury.
• Pack or palletize production from conveyors systems.
• Keep assigned lines clean and perform housekeeping tasks.
• Remove scrap from around the line.
• Rework and repack defective product and document paperwork.
• Initial and date box labels and issue unit tickets.
• Perform other duties as assigned by Supervisor.
