Job summary

Silgan Plastics in Deep River, CT, is seeking a line-pack operator to follow safety and quality guidelines, inspect products, and pack or palletize items from conveyors. The role requires good communication, reliability, and the ability to lift up to 50 lbs.

You will work a 12-hour shift, with day or night options, weekends, and overtime as needed. A GED is required; a high school diploma is preferred. Manufacturing experience is welcome but not required.

Qualifications

• Must be able to read, write and communicate orally.
• Good attention to detail required.
• Dependability with good attendance.
• Able to understand bottle specifications for inspection.
• Visual inspections on product.
• Willingness to work 12-hour day or night shifts, weekends and OT.
• Able to lift up to 50 lbs.

Responsibilities

• Follow all Safety and Quality Guidelines.
• Adhere to Silgan safety policies and procedures.
• Notify inspector of any defective parts.
• Pack at standard rate and palletize production from conveyors.
• Maintain housekeeping around assigned line and machine.
• Remove scrap and complete rework/packaging as needed.
• Label boxes with date and unit tickets.
• Perform other duties as assigned by Supervisor.
