Job summary

Huhtamaki in New Vienna, Ohio is seeking a dependable Packer to accurately pack and inspect products while maintaining safety and quality standards on the production floor.

You will rotate among packing stations, prepare labels, and document production activities using tablets and computers, with regular weekend shifts and overtime as needed.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Ability to lift up to 25 pounds regularly and up to 40 pounds occasionally.
• Read and follow written work instructions.
• Ability to use tablets and computers to complete production, quality, safety, and other documentation.
• Ability to communicate effectively with team members and other personnel.
• Ability to work overtime as needed to meet customer and business requirements.

Responsibilities

• Packs quality products into cartons and on pallets according to established specifications.
• Inspects products on a regular basis to ensure quality standards.
• Loads end boards onto molding machines as needed.
• Rotates among all assigned packer positions and work areas as required by production needs.
• Prepares, verifies, and applies labels accurately with complete information.
• Completes required production, quality, safety, and inventory documentation accurately, including electronic records using tablets and computers.
• Maintains a clean, organized, and safe work area through regular housekeeping activities.

Job Summary

Responsible for accurately packing and inspecting all products. Ensure that Production area meets Huhtamaki housekeeping requirements. This responsibility is to be exercised within the scope of all company policies, procedures, and guidelines.

Essential Functions

• Performs all work in a safe manner and follows established safety procedures.
• Complies with all company and plant safety, quality, and food safety requirements.
• Packs quality products into cartons and on pallets according to established specifications.
• Loads end boards onto molding machines as needed.
• Rotates among all assigned packer positions and work areas as required by production needs.
• Inspects products on a regular basis to ensure compliance with quality standards and promptly reports concerns.
• Assists with the operation, monitoring, and cleaning of automated parts-handling equipment.
• Prepares, verifies, and applies labels accurately, ensuring all required information is complete and correct.
• Follows all packaging specifications, work instructions, and standard operating procedures.
• Completes required production, quality, safety, and inventory documentation accurately, including electronic records using tablets and computers.
• Works collaboratively with team members and other departments to achieve production objectives.
• Communicates safety, quality, equipment, and production concerns effectively to supervisors and team members.
• Maintains a clean, organized, and safe work area through regular housekeeping activities.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

Job Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Ability to work safely and follow all company safety and Food Safe procedures.
• Basic knowledge and understanding of Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) procedures.
• Ability to lift up to 25 pounds on a regular basis and up to 40 pounds occasionally.
• Ability to read and follow written work instructions.
• Ability to learn, retain, and accurately identify product part numbers and distinguish among various products.
• Ability to complete written documentation with legible handwriting.
• Ability to use tablets and computers to accurately complete production, quality, safety, and other required electronic documentation.
• Ability to communicate effectively with team members and other personnel.
• Ability to work overtime as needed to meet customer and business requirements.

Environment

Will work in a manufacturing environment. Individual will work a set schedule including regular weekend work. Requires prolonged standing (95%). Will pack and inspect products on various molding machines. Requires twisting at waist, bending/stooping, squatting/kneeling, climbing ladders and stairs and working on platforms at various heights up to 8’.
