Job summary

Huhtamaki is seeking a Case Sealer in the Finishing Department in Alabama. The role performs diversified duties to maintain efficiency, safety, attendance, productivity, quality, and teamwork.

You will operate an electric pallet jack, monitor labeling, assist in problem solving, and follow SQF food safety regulations in a manufacturing environment.

Qualifications

• Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds and perform 8– to 12‑hour shifts.
• Experience in a manufacturing setting is a plus.
• Ability to follow safety rules and wear PPE as required.

Job Summary

Perform diversified duties of a case sealer to maintain the highest degree of efficiency possible for Finishing Department. Maintain a safe and clean work environment. Maintain general requirements for attendance, productivity, quality, and team relations.

Essential Functions

• Observe all Huhtamaki safety rules and always use safe working methods and procedures to avoid injury, injury to co-workers, or damage to company property.
• Operate an electric pallet jack.
• Complete all job-related documents.
• Monitor case labeling and print quality.
• Assist in problem solving.
• Communicate effectively with supervisors, lead persons and operators in matters such as, but not limited to safety, quality, production, etc.
• Practice Food Safety and all SQF Regulations
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Job Qualifications

Required

• Must be able to safely lift, carry, push, and pull materials weighing up to 50 pounds independently on a frequent basis. Loads exceeding 50 pounds must be moved using appropriate assistance, team lifting, or mechanical lifting equipment.
• Position requires moderate to heavy physical effort, including frequent lifting, carrying, standing, walking, bending, and reaching during an 8-12 hour shift.
• Occasional to frequent neck and trunk extension as associated with reaching above shoulders and frequent hand movement in handling of supplies and tools overhead.
• Work shift work of 40 hours per week, with overtime possible
• Continuous mental and visual attention when performing work activities.
• Must use PPE to include ear plugs or muffs, hair net, and safety glasses, & steel toe or composite toe shoes.

Preferred

• High School Diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Prefer 1 year of manufacturing experience.
