Job summary

Huhtamaki, Inc. seeks dependable team members to set up and operate a packaging line in a fast-paced Indiana manufacturing facility. You will load materials, adjust equipment, and move finished goods on pallets using a forklift on a 12-hour shift.

Responsibilities

  • Set up and adjust equipment on packaging line.
  • Load pre-printed labels and ensure proper alignment.
  • Prepare packaging materials (bundles, bags, boxes, wrap) per specifications.
  • Construct and stage boxes; load and maintain wrapper and shrink tunnel; operate carton sealer.
  • Move finished goods pallets using a forklift; wrap and place into storage.
  • Maintain clean, safe workstation and follow GMP and PPE policies.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by supervisor.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Set up and adjust equipment on packaging line. Loads pre-printed labels and make adjustments for proper alignment. Prepares a variety of packaging materials, i.e., bundles, bags, boxes, shrink wrap, etc. according to product packaging specifications. Construct and assemble boxes and stage them for use. Load and maintain wrapper and shrink tunnel. Load and maintain carton (box) sealer. Pull finished goods pallets, wrap and place into finished goods storage with fork truck. Keep workstation, tables and work area clean and free of tripping hazards Work safely and follow all GMP and PPE policies. Sort, repack, clean and perform other duties as assigned by your supervisor. All other duties as assigned by supervisor.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

High School diploma or GED required. Experience in an industrial machine operation, assembly line, or related type work preferred. Knowledge of printed finished goods a plus. Ability to communicate; reading and writing comprehension. Ability to follow directions.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

Standing, stooping, kneeling, twisting, bending, reaching, pulling for 10+ hours during 12 hour shift. Lifting required up to 50 pounds frequently throughout the day. Tasks are performed in a production or warehouse environment which includes noise and moving equipment. Ability to safety operate powered industrial equipment, e.g., forklift.
