Job summary

Utz Quality Foods in Hanover, PA, part of Utz Brands, Inc., is seeking a Packer to join our manufacturing team. You will inspect packed items, set up packing areas, and help move products to the warehouse.

The ideal candidate will be able to stand all day, lift up to 50 lbs, and operate the shrink wrapper. We offer a supportive environment and opportunities for growth in a long-standing snack foods company.

Qualifications

• Basic math and reading skills required.
• Fluent in English or Spanish and able to read instructions.
• Must stand the full shift and lift up to 50 lbs.
• Know-how of general production processes and quality control.

Responsibilities

• Inspect packed items and alert supervisor of changes.
• Perform quality and food safety tasks.
• Move product from packing area to warehouse using jacks.
• Scan finished product into inventory with scanning equipment.
• Set up mats and cartons before production begins each day.
• Prepare packing area for different products.
• Relieve for breaks and lunches.
• Operate shrink wrapper.
• Assist with sanitation and floor cleaning weekly.
• Perform other duties as assigned by supervisor.

Job description

Utz Quality Foods is looking to grow our loyal, career driven, and customer focused team, and are currently recruiting for a Packer to join our team of manufacturing professionals in Hanover, PA at our High Street facility.

Key Responsibilities

• Inspects packaged items and alerts machine operator or shift supervisor of any changes.
• Responsible for quality and food safety tasks for their position.
• Moves product from packing area to warehouse by pulling jacks filled with product.
• Accurately scans finished product into inventory with use of scanning equipment.
• Sets up mats and cartons for packers before production begins each day.
• Prepares packing area when packaging different products.
• Helps relieve for breaks and lunches.
• Must be able to safely maneuver and lift up to 50lbs.
• Understands how to operate the Shrink Wrapper.
• Helps clean floor and equipment in packing room weekly in addition to other Sanitation duties as assigned.
• Other duties as assigned by supervisor.

Requirements

• Requires basic math and reading skills.
• Ability to fluently communicate in and read English or Spanish.
• Must be willing and able to stand 100% of the time
• Requires knowledge of product quality and production processes.
• Regular lifting (50lbs).
• Ability to bend, stoop, squat, pivot regularly.
• Ability to be trained to be the backup lineperson and packer.
• Ability to be trained to use a hand jack.
