Job summary

Utz Quality Foods is hiring for Packers/Quality Assurance Techs at our Hanover, PA facility. This full-time role offers a weekend-night schedule (Mon-Thu, 5:55 AM–5:55 PM) with competitive pay, benefits, and team-based growth opportunities.

You will inspect, verify, and package products while upholding GMP, OSHA, and FDA standards in a fast-paced production environment. Training in QA techniques and lab methods is provided.

Qualifications

• Experience in packaging QA and routine QA testing preferred.
• Ability to verify codes, dates and pricing on packaged goods.
• Familiarity with sanitation and GMP/OSHA guidelines in food production.
• Strong teamwork and cross-functional communication abilities.

Responsibilities

• Inspect packaged items and alert operator or supervisor of defects.
• Verify code, dates and price on products.
• Examine package seals and overall packaging integrity.
• Maintain clean, sanitary work environment per OSHA/FDA guidelines.
• Learn routine QA testing, sample collection, and lab techniques.
• Ability to lift up to 40 lbs and work in a team setting.
• Assist as backup QA Technician as needed.

Utz Quality Foods, a leader in the snack food industry, is growing, and we're looking for dedicated, hands-on Packers/ Quality Assurance Techs to join our team at our High Street facility in Hanover, PA. This full-time opportunity offers a consistent weekend nightshift schedule (Monday through Thursday, 5:55 AM to 5:55 PM), along with competitive pay, benefits, and the chance to work in a team-oriented environment where your contribution matters.

Responsibilities

• Inspects packaged items and alerts machine operator or shift supervisor of any defects.
• Verifies code, dates, and price.
• Examines package for proper seal.
• Reports any and all conditions that could lead to contaminated product.
• Packs product into cartons, cans and specialty containers and places them onto skids/conveyors.
• Prepares items for production (cans/labels/trays/rework items).
• Maintains an organized and sanitary work environment at all times following OSHA, FDA and Good Manufacturing Practices to ensure a healthy and safe work environment.
• Assists as back-up Quality Assurance Technician as needed.
• Learn routine quality assurance testing; product sample collection; physical property testing; sensory evaluation; and various lab techniques to support and assist as needed.
• Must be able to lift up to 40 lbs.
• Requires working proactively in a cross-functional team with diverse groups of people.
• Works in a safe manner at all times and communicates any safety issues to supervisor.
• Other duties as assigned by supervisor
