Job summary

Silgan Containers in Seymour, IN is seeking a production associate to join our manufacturing team. You will promote a safe work environment, follow Silgan safety policies, monitor ware for quality defects, and perform packing and line tasks on a fast-paced production line.

Responsibilities include operating a punch, loading conveyors and flamers, conducting housekeeping, labeling boxes, and assisting supervisors with assigned duties.

Responsibilities

• Promote a safe working environment
• Understand and adheres to all Silgan safety policies and procedures to prevent injury to self and co-workers
• Monitor ware for quality defects and promptly inform the operator and/ or the coordinator
• Pack at standard rate
• Operate a punch
• Load conveyors and flamers
• Practice housekeeping on assigned line(s) and around machine including mopping if necessary
• Remove scrap from around the line
• Grind and pull plastic as needed
• Make and unitize cartons as assigned
• Initial and date box labels
• Make out unit tickets
• Do any other work as assigned by the Supervisor
