Job summary

Silgan Containers in Seymour, IN is seeking a manufacturing line associate to help ensure product safety and quality on the production line. Responsibilities include packing, operating a punch, loading conveyors and flamers, and maintaining housekeeping on and around the lines.

Qualified applicants will have a High School/GED or equivalent and must be able to lift 30–40 lb items while following safety policies and procedures. This is a full-time, on-site position with standard production shifts.

Qualifications

• High School/GED required.

Responsibilities

• Has a fundamental responsibility to ensure product safety and quality across duties.
• Promote a safe working environment.
• Adhere to Silgan safety policies and procedures to prevent injury to self and co-workers.
• Monitor ware for quality defects and promptly inform the operator and/or the coordinator.
• Pack at standard rate.
• Operate a punch.
• Load conveyors and flamers.
• Practice housekeeping on assigned line(s) and around machine including mopping if necessary.
• Remove scrap from around the line.
• Grind and pull plastic as needed.
• Make and unitize cartons as assigned.
• Initial and date box labels.
• Make out unit tickets.
• Do any other work assigned by the Supervisor.
• Ability to work with 30-40 lb. materials.
